Maryville College and Town Host Joint Volunteer Day

Organizers in Maryville say the event builds on years of grassroots effort to bring neighbors together and support local causes.

"We've put a lot of work into getting this right, and we think people are going to notice the difference," said James Miller, nonprofit director in Maryville.

Last year's turnout topped 3889 attendees, and organizers say they are hoping to top that number this time with an expanded lineup of activities for families.
