Charlotte, the county seat of Dickson County, hosts its annual Charlotte Festival and parade on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Dickson County Chamber lists the event as running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission, and the City of Charlotte's website confirms the date and ties this year's celebration to the nation's 250th anniversary.
What the day includes
According to the chamber's listing, the festival features more than 100 vendor booths, food trucks, live music, historic displays, train exhibits and inflatables for children, all centered on downtown Charlotte. The city handles vendor sign-ups through its website under the Events menu.
A town with deep roots
Charlotte is home to what the chamber describes as the state's oldest working courthouse, and the festival leans on that history, with displays that look back on the community's heritage. The annual event has long been a way for neighbors, local businesses and nonprofit groups to share a day in the middle of town.
Looking ahead
Families can check the City of Charlotte and the Dickson County Chamber websites for schedule updates, vendor applications and parade information.
