Downtown Johnson City Hosts Blues and BBQ Block Party

Organizers in Johnson City say the event builds on years of grassroots effort to bring neighbors together and support local causes.

"We've put a lot of work into getting this right, and we think people are going to notice the difference," said Nicole Garcia, event organizer in Johnson City.

Last year's turnout topped 3556 attendees, and organizers say they are hoping to top that number this time with an expanded lineup of activities for families.
