Walnut Street Bridge to Close Six Weeks for Structural Repairs

Chattanooga officials confirmed the update this week, saying it reflects months of planning and public input from residents across the area.

"This is something our community has been asking for, and we're glad to finally see it come together," said Robert Jackson, public works director in Chattanooga.

Planning documents reviewed by the Tennessee Tribune show the project is expected to cost roughly $5.3 million, with work phased in over the next 1 to 2 years. Local leaders say the timeline could shift depending on funding and weather.
