Gatlinburg once again became a gathering place for nail professionals this summer. Nails Magazine published a recap on Aug. 18 titled "Nail Tech Event of the Smokies Celebrates 19 Years in Gatlinburg," reporting that the nails-only trade show welcomed 700 beauty professionals for education, shopping, networking and what the magazine called a surprise tied to the Smokies.

About the event

The annual show is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, and event listings put the 2026 dates at July 10–13. The magazine's earlier preview, published June 2, noted that licensed beauty professionals could save on host-hotel rates through group promo codes.

What the show typically offers

Based on the magazine's coverage of the 2025 edition, which drew more than 500 licensed nail technicians and about 200 educators, the show centers on a one-day expo with dozens of booths and free classes, surrounded by paid hands-on and business workshops on the days before and after. Topics have included nail art, pedicure and foot care, and building a business. Vendors and sponsors typically hand out swag, door prizes and product trials.

Why it matters in Tennessee

Tennessee requires manicurists to complete 600 hours of training before licensure, according to licensing guides, which makes continuing education events like this one a draw for working technicians across the Southeast. Full details of the 2026 program were limited in the recap available at the time of writing; readers can find the complete article on the Nails Magazine website and event information at nailtechevent.com.
